How much does it cost?
Introductory pricing for 2020 – sessions are $200 for up to 3”x5” and $400 and up for larger areas.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions needed will vary based on each individual and the ultimate goal. The size of the tattoo, colors and density of the pigmentation, your skin tone, and if you want to completely remove the tattoo or just lighten it for a cover-up, all play a part in the number of sessions you will need.
How long do I have to wait in between sessions?
This can vary on an individual basis but, for the most part, 4-6 weeks between sessions gives the best results.
Does it hurt?
The new technology of the PiQo4 system paired with an advanced dynamic cooling device (Zimmer Cryo) allows for the most comfortable process to date. With that said, Yes, it does still hurt! Most describe it as an intense and focal heat sensation that passes quickly.
Am I able to go tanning before or after my treatment?
No! It is absolutely essential that you stay away from sun/UV rays, tanning beds, self-tanners, and any other product designed to change the pigmentation of your natural skin tone. These can all impact the outcome of the treatment and may cause permanent pigmentation problems.
Who will be performing the treatments?
Dr. Maggie Gasiorova and Dr. Elena Christofides of MediZen Health will be performing the laser removal treatments. Not only do they have a vast knowledge of their medical fields and a wide array of training, but they are also incredibly dedicated to their clients’ wellbeing. Can I still get a tattoo after I’ve completed my laser treatments?
Absolutely!
How does the laser work?
The PiQo4 laser utilizes different wavelengths of light at both Nano and Picosecond laser pulses. First, the Nanosecond pulses are used to deliver short bursts of light energy that break down the larger and deeper pigment or ink particles. Then in later treatments, the area is rescanned with Picosecond pulses that dismantle the smaller and shallower particles. This combination yields far better results than using either one of the technologies on its own. These short laser pulses are absorbed into the target areas of the tattoo causing the conversion of light energy into acoustic waves that shatter the ink/pigment granules in a process that is fast and effective. The high energy levels of PiQo4 allow pigment/tattoo removal with fewer treatments compared to other laser systems. PiQo4 offers up to 15 spot sizes, ranging from 2mm to 15mm, the broadest range of spot size in today’s aesthetics industry and almost four times larger than that of the closest competitor. PiQo4’s largest spot sizes allow penetration into the dermis and better dispersal of the pigment or embedded ink particles, no matter which dermal layers that they may have migrated to. Studies have demonstrated that treatment with a large spot size at low fluences also significantly decreases any occurrence of blistering, discoloration, or scarring on the skin’s surface since the energy is being spread over a wider area. Each pigment color absorbs a specific wavelength. PiQo4 offers 4 wavelengths in order to treat the broadest range of pigment/tattoo colors, on the widest range of skin types.
What makes the PiQo4 laser so different from other laser treatments?
The PiQo4 laser has the broadest range of light wavelengths available as well as the largest treatment area compared to other, older treatments on the market. It is the availability of a broad spectrum of light energy that allows it to target the full range of tattoo pigment. It also uses 2 different kinds of laser pulses to help break down the ink faster and more effectively. Broad-spectrum energy laser pulses combined with the largest uniform spot size in today’s aesthetics industry allow for deeper penetration which results in faster treatment results and shorter treatment sessions.
Will the treatment leave scarring?
There is always a chance of scarring. However, during your consultation, our doctors will be able to go over your specific risks and discuss alternative treatments should you have any scarring.
Is the laser going to burn my skin off?
No! The PiQo4 laser heats up the inks in your skin to help break them down and allow them to be easily absorbed and dissipate.
